Condo vs. Home: Depending on your budget, lifestyle, wants and needs!
Buyers know what they want, but sometimes that changes. I was working with some buyers recently who knew going into the shopping experience that they wanted to buy a Condo.
We went and looked at numerous condos, many of which had a lot to offer. As we toured the city, (the buyers did not care what area) many questions came up that stimulated conversation amongst my buyers and myself. As we dug deeper, their buying directions started to shift toward a single family home. Here is what happened.
The buyers began to realize that appreciation of the purchase was higher on their priority list then they had first thought. Gardening was also moving up, location was staying the same, square footage was staying the same, but they determined that they really wanted an attached garage, privacy and places to walk and ride bikes.
We switched gears and focused on single family homes, with a garage, larger lot and in a nice quiet level neighborhood. When I did that search, about 17 choices came up. We saw them all and the 4th one we saw was the one they picked. It ended up being less money than they wanted to spend, better condition, and not a fixer. It was also close to two parks, and the best bike riding path and trails in the city.
They close on November 17th and are very excited!
